There is nothing more precious to us than our children and nothing more upsetting for parents than seeing them in distress. As such I will always make time to see an ill child on the same day if requested.
- As new parents, your baby's needs can seem challenging and sometimes quite baffling. Babies don't come with an instruction manual and it can be frightening if you don't understand why your baby seems distressed or how to calm him or her. Looking it up on the internet can be helpful but it's also easy to jump to scary conclusions.
- An important part of my role as a GP or Family Doctor is to help and guide parents in looking after their babies and children. Even if it's just for reassurance, I'd rather a parent was reassured by a quick visit to me than sitting at home worrying about their child.
- I can provide you with a wide range of information, from "what is normal?" through to diet advice, nappy rash, coughs and colds, onto developmental assessment and clinical diagnostics. I also work closely with midwives, nutritionists and paediatricians to ensure the best health for your baby.
- Older kids present a whole different set of health issues for parents to deal with. From cuts and grazes to broken bones, to behavior difficulties and other illness, the list is long. I enjoy treating and caring for children and I have much experience in this area. I also work closely with my specialist colleagues when required.
